Basil Hanson found MTM TV with a vision to spread the Gospel across Jamaica and the Caribbean by enhancing godliness in the homes, offices and institutions. He is encouraged to do so by Lancelot "Lloydie" Watson, a pioneer of Sauce Cable Company. (Sauce was later sold to FLOW, and Mr Watson has since passed on.)

MTM TV starts with one cable channel serving the parish of Kingston, Jamaica. It soon expands

to four channels covering several St. Catherine communities. Jamaica's first local cable channel,

MTM TV is also the island's first Christian Cable Network. It broadcasts around the clock from day one.

1999

The Founder pledges to keep MTM TV in the black, and foregoes "fast tracking" its growth by

resisting the temptation to borrow to get ahead. When needs arise, he looks to God and is not

disappointed.

2000-2004

MTM TV survives challenging times, downsizing to one channel, but standing fast to its mission

of 'Reaching the Globe for Christ'.

2005

MTM TV goes Caribbean, and "turns a corner", thanks to support from regional pastors, moving forward to continued expansion and success. By now MTM TV is a network, and is featured on 11 major cable providers in Jamaica. It is also reaching the wider Caribbean and

farther across the globe.

2006

MTM TV enters cyberspace, and becomes the first and only Jamaican station to broadcast 24

hours a day, 7 days a week on the Internet, in real time. By now, MTM TV is carried by 17 major cable providers in Jamaica, covering two thirds of the island.

2007

MTM TV now reaches some 90 percent of Jamaican households, carried on 21 cable providers. (A number of these cable providers are eventually purchased by FLOW). Read More
